This is a new page that I am working on that will cover my whole career in the US Army.  (All 8 1/2 years)  Obviously, this will be a 'condensed' version with some photos and some documentation.

In August, 1987, I enlisted in the US Army as a 74F (Computer Programmer/Systems Analyst).  I came in as a PVT.  I completed my basic training at Ft. Leonardwood, MO.

From there, I was transferred to Ft. Ben Harrison, IN to complete my AIT training.

In February, 1988, I was completed with my training was again transferred to Software Development Center, FT Lee, VA.  I attained PV2.

My career there was short as I was accepted into the US Military Academy West Point Prep School.

I transferred there for the training for entry into West Point.  The school is located at Ft. Monmouth, NJ.

I was almost complete with my training there when I received my acceptance letter!  I had to do some serious thinking about how long I wanted to stay in.  At this time, I was a PFC and I didn't want to spend another 6-10 years in the US Army at the time.  (Little did I know.....)

So, I turned down West Point and was reassigned to the 513th MI Bde unit at Ft. Monmouth.  While there, I attained my SPC rank.

The 513th MI Bde is a military intelligence unit that specializes in the Middle East.  It was also a field deployable unit.  They even issued us as standard equipment the desert BDU's.  (Uniforms).  We thought they were cool at the time.  Hmmmm.  That changed....

Well, along comes Saddam Hussein.  They packed us up and sent us to the Persian Gulf.  There I had the "time of my life".  Check the Desert Shield/Desert Storm photo pages to see!  (Soon)

Any way, May/June 1991 rolls around, war over.  I decided I needed a new unit.  I wanted to go somewhere that there was sand, but this time with a nice ocean to go with it!  So, Hawaii, here I come.

I transferred in Sept, 1991 to Field Station Kunia on Schofield Barracks, HI.  I realized at this point, that with my security clearance, it would be the intelligence field for the rest of my career.

At Field Station Kunia,  I got promoted to SGT.  After my 3 years in paradise, they figured I owed them some more work so I got transferred to.....

Lovely Ft. Meade, MD.  I accidentally got attached to the post support unit.  After awhile, they figured out they lost me and with the help of some very decent people, I got transferred to NSA, where I was supposed to go.

Now, I'd love to tell you what I did there, but, you know, as the saying goes:  I'd have to kill you (hehehe), then they'd throw me in jail for a really long time.  So, guess you don't get to know what I did there either.....

I realized, at this point, other Network engineer types were getting paid lots of $$$ elsewhere and I wanted in on the action, so I got out!

There, that's 8 1/2 years worth of my life!!!
